HECTIC, ADDICTIVE GOATPUNKS GAME RELEASED FOR IPHONE, IPAD AND IPOD TOUCH BY STUDIO CANVAS.

Players battle goats from around the world to become king of the mountain; social gaming features allow global challenges and multiplayer chaos using ghost AI.

 

SYDNEY – 1st November 2014, Launching today, GoatPunks is a fast-paced action game where players climb, leap and headbutt their customizable goat to the top a series of thematic mountains, and then once there, maintain their position against all challengers, launching bombs, fireballs, lightning bolts and other weapons to try to prevent other goats from knocking them off the peak. GoatPunks features social gaming mechanics that let you challenge goats directly from a ranked list of goats worldwide. Players can compete with up to ten goats at a time, increasing the bonus prizes per game. As players gather gold, new stages open up and new weapons become available, and their goats will evolve, gaining more speed and toughness. Players can select fire or lightning goat clans, each with its own set of weapons and bombs, as they make their way up each mountain and try to win the headbutt battles along the way.

GoatPunks is the brainchild of artist Alberto Santiago, who created all components of the game from concept to programming, 3D art, design and sound effects. The stage art is hand illustrated with an anime-like style that is inspired by Ghibli movies, and mountains vary in complexity with themes based on ice, city, lantern, candy and other motifs.

GoatPunks features a new type of gameplay that fully utilises the touch control of a retina display to provide quick response and game manipulation with intuitive gestures. Players simply swipe their goat to landings and footholds on the mountain, trying to keep an eye on other goats and get the timing right to knock them off of their feet, all the while looking to reach the peak. Once at the top, players can swipe to pan up, down and around the mountain, then by tapping anywhere on the mountain, use an arsenal of weapons to rain down terror on the other goats, but beware – players can sneak up on you and send you back down the mountain in a heartbeat.
